Aside from the metaphysical aspect, you must admit that the esthetical aspect is admirable. It is a gigantic triple expanse of water leading to a veritable pyramid of fountains, so pyramidal that it has been called the Este Organs. The waterworks are, in fact, monumental organs dedicated to the god Apollo.
In fact, all the way on top, there is a small temple which used to contain a statue of Apollo, but no longer does. This temple is flanked by two terra cotta statues showing us the two aspects of the supreme god of beauty: the master of madness, Apollo, the citharist, complemented by Apollo with a lyre.
