Marguerite Mounier
Native American, Swiss by marriage.
BA cum laude in Political Science (art history minor), Smith College,
Mass. 1960 / admitted to ASTTI (Swiss Ass. of Translators,
Terminologists and Interpreters) in spring 1990.
- Chronology
- Twenty-five years raising four children and parttime positions
with various international firms in Switzerland, with the
University of Burlington (VT) and Hathaway Brown School
for Girls (Cleveland, OH) as French language and literature
teacher (five years), and with a Swiss firm as in-house legal
and technical translator during the 1980s.
- 1990's: freelance translating from German and French into
English since end 1988, specializing in fine arts translations
since summer 1990.
- Presently
Mandators, mostly in Switzerland, include national institutions
like the Swiss Institute for Art Research and Pro Helvetia,
museums, foundations, private galleries, publishers, art
critics, and artists.
